Since its debut in 2011, Game of Thrones has remained in the spotlight with its ongoing spin-offs. Recently, intriguing comments about the series’ finale have emerged. Despite the widespread disappointment with the show’s conclusion, a renowned Game of Thrones actor has surprisingly defended it. Here are the details…
Peter Dinklage Can’t Understand the Discontent with the Finale
Five years after the controversial finale of Game of Thrones, discussions among fans continue. While the prequel series House of the Dragon has sparked its own debates, many still argue that the eighth season ended poorly, failing to live up to the show’s quality and leaving viewers unsatisfied.
However, Peter Dinklage, who won hearts as Tyrion Lannister and earned numerous awards for his performance, shared his thoughts on the finale in an interview with Rolling Stone, revealing that he is quite satisfied with it, contrary to the majority of fans.
In the interview, Dinklage expressed that he does not share the same views as most fans, stating, “I liked it.” He explained:
“You don’t have to agree. Would it have been better if I said, ‘Yes, I agree. I hated the finale. The last season was terrible’? That would have been better received than me saying I liked it, but I really did like it. I can’t speak for anyone else’s opinion, and that’s what makes our work enjoyable because everyone has a different view and can write, chat, drink, and debate about it. It’s a great thing. So I think that means you did something right.”
Since the finale, many Game of Thrones actors have shared their thoughts. Without listing each individually, it’s worth noting that Peter Dinklage and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (who played Jaime Lannister) are the only ones to have expressed positive views on the finale. This reaffirms the saying, “A Lannister always pays his debts.”
What do you think about the show’s finale? Were you satisfied with it? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
